Bread Alone in Woodstock, NY

Our opinion

Bread Alone has some of the best bread in the state of New York, hands-down. You can actually find it in the grocery stores and markets around town. First a bakery, this is a great place to get coffee and a doughnut, cookie, croissant or pastry. They also have a pretty decent menu for breakfast and lunch. Great for grab and go, dine-in or takeout. This is a good place to get coffee and tea. Drinks to go. I recommend calling ahead because the line can get quite long but it moves pretty fast.

This is a great place to visit when you’re walking downtown because it’s right on the main drag. It is a great local spot that has pretty good energy. In the summer months, the Mowers Flea Market is right behind Bread Alone making the location a very convenient place to stop on your way in or out.

If you plan to cook in the house, this is a great place to pick up a couple of loaves of bread. The sourdough is legendary, but they have a wide variety of different breads and they’re all high-quality.

Of all the meals, I think this is prime for breakfast as it’s the logical choice with the muffins and pastries, and other baked goods as well as the coffee and tea drinks. They make great egg sandwiches and even have easy stuff for the kids like bagels and fruit cups.
